Oftentimes we hear of the need to have a sound and healthy mind and I think that this fact cannot be overflogged because the mind is the seat of sanity and an absence of a sound mind means the absence of a healthy mind. This spells doom, regardless of the angle we look at it from.

A clarification of what the mind truly is needs to be made before we venture further. What the mind is, is indeed a controversial discourse. The mind is not the brain though the mind works in the brain. The mind is man's consciousness. The mind works in the totality of our living and lively systems. Suffice to say that your mind is in every living cell in you; your essential intelligence.

The mind is intangible. It is not a physical thing. It is not hidden in the cranium of the skull though it operates in the grey matter, which the skull protects. The mind is the software that operates our entire hardware. Let me say that the mind is the software of the heart. When you think of the mind, do think in and of the abstract, never the concrete.

Your first wealth is a sound mind. Without a sound mind you are far from healthy and you are not able to put yourself together. You do not and cannot amount to much. One who lacks a sound and healthy mind has no gumption and is far from the ability to self-manage.

A healthy mind is aware of itself. Without this consciousness, it is difficult to live a fulfilled life. With self-awareness, one must have discovered oneself and know what is best suitable to pursue for self-development. The absence of this prevents self-actualization from happening because without service, which is the value that we provide to others, we cannot bring our potential to actual. Every of our treasure, our talent, would remain in the mental state.

Talking about the mind, what we refer to as the physical mind is the conscious mind. This is that through which we receive information from the external. They are the physical members with which we contact the environment. We talk in terms of the eyes to see, the ears to hear, the tongue to speak and taste, the nose to smell and the feelings we get when touched. These are the physical senses.

The subconscious mind is unseen. It lays down below and receives everything that it is fed. These information go into the memory. It feeds the perception and helps the reasoning to function. With same information, the imagination is fuelled and the will activated. The same way bits of information, whether from the sublime or esoteric feed the intuition. You are what you feed on. You are what you feed your subconscious mind.

This is the same thing that comes out of you. It is what determines if putrefaction dwells in you, or if the light in you is darkness or otherwise. What you take in is what your mind processes and delivers to the space where you play. The environment receives it and you influence others by it, whatever sort of influence it is.

A healthy mind is able to control what it sees, hears, smells, tastes and feels. Because such a person lives intentionally, he/she is able to deliberately control himself/herself through self-regulation, by what he/she permits the conscious minds to do. They always have presence and they are hardly carried away by the things they have not chosen or that they are not driven by.

A healthy mind takes offence, however grevious, with calm. There are levels of development to this, though. A healthy mind keeps things under check as they pursue mastery in a specific area of life. Because they walk the path of mastery or that they have even become masters of their trade does not absolve them of human mistakes or errors. Humans cannot cease from erring.

Those who are healthy and sound of mind are able to hold back. They use temperance. They grow the ability to see the world from a place of acceptance. In the present dismal cycles of existence, they are able to stay fulfilled by continously looking to what appeals to their inner code. They have a conscience that is emotionally in tune with the realities and they have such uncommon insights that lets them maintain equilibrium and presence of mind, regardless.

A healthy mind is not an unstable mind that is tossed to and fro, and swayed by every wind of discourse. They speak rarely and only do when there is something to be said to advance the course of a discourse knowing full well that it would positively affect the cause of mankind in the area that they have chosen.

Being free of contentions, vain arguments and disinformed reasoning sees them make sound judgments that are spotless and unbiased. Nothing is as important as the value of respect and the golden rule. Their practice is a life that is equipped by the wisdom that nature supplies in its purity because they first have subdued the carnal sensibilities on account of the deliberate choices they make based on what they permit.

What you permit either sucks energy from you or replenishes your energy. Energy grows where energy goes. And everything we do requires energy, whether it is of the negative or of the positive sort. Our every emotion, regardless of what it is, is energy. Our thoughts, our words, our actions, the habits they form and the character maps they create all begin with the information that we receive. They are energies. And while some energize to life and its preservation, some others cripple and destroy same.

A healthy mind is self-renewing. Self-renewal is the concept that often births newness. The same does not permit rot to get in and even when it encounters any property or substance that can jeopardize it, it is able to subdue it. Presence of mind permits this. Such a mindset has been developed over a long period of time.

Energy flows from, through and into anything and everything. It is the same way that there are no wastes. While you may not know what to do with or about something, it is not useless. It is the same way that everything connects to everything. This knowing leads to the understanding and wisdom that a healthy mind aligns with. With the same, it is guided towards engagement at all times.

The role you play in the ecosystem will be your contribution and it will either earn you rewards or consequences. There is always a just and undeniable recompense. The healthy mind is thus equipped and it so deals with all persuasion.

Without a sound and healthy mind, it is difficult to accomplish anything worthwhile. And even if anything is accomplished, it may not endure because it cannot be effectively managed and maintained. A healthy mind leads to a healthy lifestyle and a healthy lifestyle produces a healthy and impactful being. Attaining the level of the being is the manifestation of the essence and fulfillment of purpose through doing what one is purposed to do.

A healthy and sane mind is possible if we apply ourselves to learning the right and important things of and about life in the way it directly affects us and pertains to us in the space that we occupy. What would you do without a sound and healthy mind? How do you earn a healthy mind? These are the questions that you must apply yourself to consistently. It is your place of treasure.
