The content of a container is responsible for the way the container behaves relative to the activities that it is subjected to.
If you put water in a bottle and you shake it, it does no harm either to the bottle or to the environment, apart from just spilling and wetting objects. If you put paraffin or fuel in the same container, and you expose it to heat or fire, the impact of the heat or the fire on it will cause explosion. If the content is a corrosive substance like acid, you do know what the result will be if it is carelessly exposed to an environment that is not conducive to it.
Now you are a container. As a container, what content is in you? Whatever is in you is exactly the way you are going to behave. The content in you will help you to either react or respond to the situations where you find yourself.
When the Master says, if a man slaps you on the right cheek, turn your left cheek, he is saying it to those who can and who would receive the content of His words. The word is content. The greatest content there is, is the word. This is non-negotiable because the Word made all things.
When that word said of that great king, "I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go" it tells a lot about the way the king has been wired. How you are wired determines your behaviour and productivity. How you are wired determines the content that you love to receive. This is why certain work like breaking your stony heart and the like has to be done before you can comply and align with divine instructions.
Many times too, we may be exposed to great content through the experience of meeting someone, through information we encounter but we find it difficult to engage purposefully with the content and deliver it to earn value. This is because the external content, however great the information, does not align with the way we are wired.
For you to gainfully use the information, there has to be a shift in you. You have to begin a process of unlearning the habits that have become you, that have become deeply entrenched within you; learning new habits, and perhaps relearning some old ones, if they align with the new value that you seek.
This process is called Paradigm Shift. It's the process where you have to uninstall some programs running in your subconscious mind and install new programs. You do need the right information, you need to commit every other resource to it.
The minimum time to unlearn and learn a habit is at least 21 days. I repeat, AT LEAST, NOT 21 days. You actually have about 60 days to do so, and often in separation in order to divorce old information or content and marry new ones through engagement.
There is a depth of content. By this, we mean the degree to which you can permit content to act on you. You may hear the information and not listen. The evidence that you received the content is that you will act it, accordingly, based on what is in you. What is in you is the seed in you.
If you hear something, next thing is to consider it; to meditate on it; and then to act on it. All of these are not possible without you first accepting the content. If you don't accept it, you can't engage with it. And when you do not engage with it, it cannot work for you.
Those who curse, those who fuss and fight, those who steal, public office holders who dip their hands in the cookie jar, those who urinate in gutters and on road sides, those who live unclean, are only manifesting the content in them.
Someone I know personally was given 2 billion naira to deliver on a project. He spent 1.6 billion of same and returned 400 million to the coffers. A few months after he left office, a new set of persons took over and in less than 3 months, they squandered the same money.
What is the difference between both of them? It is the content within. Content is the driver. You can't activate anything without content. That is why when a child is born, it is to be fed with certain content in the way it must grow. That will determine how the child will turn out.
What content are you consuming? What you consume is what you are. You become one with the information that you ingest. You can't egest anything otherwise. The question is, what is the value of the information that is available to you? What content do you engage with on a daily basis? That is what you will become, if you act and live it.
This is life. This is not religiosity. This is just what life is. You must see life in the context of the truth that it is. If you fail to do that, then you may need to check with the content in you; that is, the way you are wired.
