What happens when creativity meets passion? A combination of creativity and passion is like hot knife through butter, but that's not all. You would still need the bread, the effort and skill to achieve an even spread and some fluid or juice to go with the buttered bread.
What is creativity? Creativity is ideation; the churning out of ideas. Ideas are good but they are not just enough. Why so? You can have a fantastic idea that you cannot get off the ground. What then is the benefit of a good idea without execution?
What is passion? Passion is a powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, like love or hate. Passion in the context of our discourse is a potent force that can push or motivate one to run with one's idea and bring it to fruition. It powers consistency and keeps one’s engine running.
Both words can be used negatively, or they have their negative extremes. Almost everything has two sides. That's not the focus now, though.
The potency of passion as a force is such that you love the idea so much that you are willing to do everything to bring it alive. You are passionate about it beyond words. You use compelling action.
Passion is like fuel. With passion, you have the fuel to power yourself and get your idea going. You have the unction or anointing to move your idea and take it to the place of realization. You have the oil to continuously lubricate your human mechanism to perform.
However, to bring an idea to life requires more than passion. To move from creativity (ideation) to innovation, requires a lot more; but with passion you have the burning desire and force to keep pushing.
Your passion has to get you to seek every information to support the idea. You are pushed to research in order to acquire all the information you need. You have to document your findings consistently. You are independent and now you seek interdependence. You seek collaboration.
Research would let you know the exact human resource that you would require. Information will also let you know other needs like capital and timelines. The right information will help you to know when to start implementation.
With implementation, you can birth your idea. Potential can become actual. Idea and thought can become innovation or invention. But all of these would never be in the absence of or without the oil of passion.
The reason is simple. The process may not be straightforward. The path may be bumpy and rough. Things can be really frustrating. The only thing that keeps you going during those rocky moments is passion.
When creativity meets passion, magic happens. There is a constant supply of energy to meet and fuel the needs of your pursuits aimed at creating and sustaining value. When creativity meets passion, visions manifest into reality through execution. New products and services are born. Life improves tremendously and growth happens.
