When you see pictures, motion or otherwise, you both hear words and take a trip or many trips with images. The medium could be the television, it could be face-to-face, or any other. It does have the power to transform if it resonates with you or if you adopt and own it.
This transformation could happen in different ways. You may get to the point where you begin to speak like the characters, dress and act like same. You could modify portions of it, and mix it up with something you had seen or known before and use it in special or different ways that you create something that is completely different from what you had encountered.
Genius is born this way. It depends on how it is received. Minds of men [humans] are influenced this way. Models and patterns are created this way and people across the board live their lives based on influences that were both alien and quaint to them. It is an amazement because of the complexity of the human nature.
When you read content, you engage differently especially when the content slows you down. You play with the words in your head and the more you play with these words, the deeper they go into you till they reach the depth of your inner recesses. There you can no longer reject them.
You soon begin to speak those words aloud to yourself as you take notes and meditate on them. You take the step of endeavouring to manifest them by applying them. Those written words begin to form a part of you. You begin to own them. They gradually become you through use.
This is the true process of learning taking place. The manifestation of these words creates something new and intrinsic to you. You understand the words in your own way based on the use you put the content to. They shape you.
There is a shift; a transition from one place to another; from one point to another. Growth begins to happen. Change happens this way. While you are not the creator of the content, you have owned the content in a different and special way. This is not commonplace because only a handful walk this quaint path of learning.
There is a surety to the content that hits levels of resonance with us. The same surety relates with anything we are introduced to, experience or encounter: The memory does not forget it. This storehouse of the human mental faculty keeps the information safe as long as nothing impairs it either by accident or mishap of any sort.
Fashion is globalized this way. Fads spread across continents this way. It is how the world continously shrinks into one big village. Nothing can stop it really because the devices, soft and hard, to make this thrive, multiply at a phenomenal and astronomical rate.
Imagine if we are intentional by deliberately choosing what content to both watch and read? We can make deliberate choices based on what we decide to see, hear, read, taste and it all depends on how we feel on the inside.
Our thirsts determine what we respond to or what we crave for. And our thirsts depend on how we are wired both in our genes and the environment that we are raised in. We act our environment. We represent our environment everywhere we go. And it is more curious now because the environment is no longer physical. The television, the internet and the devices that aid their use transport and feed our minds.
We travel every day to places we have never been to. Our minds know places that our feet do not know.
Once we are introduced to content, our thirst is activated. Nobody thirsts for what they do not know. Our memories assist to activate our thirst. Once we are introduced to anything through any of our five physical senses, it becomes a part of us and at inopportune moments, we are reminded of them either externally or through the memory bringing them through its process of selection.
A man who knows the smell of a certain scent tries to make connections when someone wears the same or similar fragrance. He tries to suggest or mention its name. The same applies to a certain spice in a food or drink. In a ginger laced drink for instance, he asks if there is ginger in the drink. The same happens with whatever other content we encounter or are acquainted with.
The content we are exposed to from what has now become an almost limitless environment is extremely important to what we are influenced by. Who do you choose to listen to? What do you like to read? Whose company do you like to be in? That is who you become one with and that is what you will manifest.
Do not forget that this engagement can be activated either physically or remotely because the boundaries are only unbroken by our personal choices. We can have access to just about anything that we choose to have access to. Our thirst determine this. Our purchasing power makes it possible.
How compelling do our thirsts drive us? That is how much we are either able to resist or not resist them. The best counsel is not to engage because it is tougher to unlearn what we have learned over a period. It is difficult to unenjoy what we used to enjoy. This is why to shift the paradigm is a personal choice and a battle with the self [the mind]. It is a battle with the essence. It is not an easy place to be in.
