Pain is an access to huge wealth but this truth is hardly known; let alone accepted though all go through pain at one time or the other.
It takes pain to heal. Anita Moorjani suffered from lymphomatic cancer for almost four years; a cancer that shut down her organs and saw her slide into a coma at the hospital. She stopped fighting and gave up, crossing into the afterlife. According to her, she saw her body on the hospital bed as her life left her.
Anita returned from this Near Death Experience totly free from cancer within months of the painful experience. An amazing door of discovery was open to her; she was exposed to a profundity of human essence. She defeated cancer and received a new lease of life.
Job, the Bible personage, painfully and unpreparedly, lost almost all he ever physically possessed, except his wife. He was stricken with boils from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet and was completely cancerous. He was riddled with both the emotional pain of loss of children, physical possessions and bodily pain. He was derided by friends and his beloved wife urged him to curse God and die.
Life seemed meaningless to Job as it were. He cursed the day he was born but confessed “I know my redeemer liveth” and HIS redeemer did show him that HE lives. He returned from that overwhelming painful experience NEVER knowing fear again. He got wealthier spiritually, physically, materially, and every otherwise than he ever imagined. His post pain estate totally exceeded his vision.
Immaculee Ilibigiza is a Rwandan Tutsi who discovered God through a harrowing and extremely painful experience during the 1994 Rwandan genocide. She survived hiding for 91 days with 7 other women in a small bathroom, about 3 by 4 feet in an area of 12 square feet. The bathroom was concealed in a room behind a wardrobe in the home of a Hutu pastor.
During the genocide, most of Ilibagiza’s family were killed by Hutu soldiers: her mother, her father, and her two brothers Damascene and Vianney. Besides her, the only other survivor in her family was her brother Aimable, who was studying out of the country in Senegal at the time and did not know the war was going on.
Immaculee’s faith in God led her through the terribly painful ordeal. She lived through it and like Nelson Mandela, she has forgiven the perpetrators of those heinous crimes against humanity.
Jesus, the Christ, had to go through the excruciating pain of crucifixion at Calvary to pay the price of redemption for mankind on the Cross. The benefits are the limitless access we have with life today and a second chance to access immortality. Painfully, majority are yet to take advantage of this opportunity.
Pain, if we’re able to go through it, opens doors of limitless opportunities. It’s the natural trend of things because man was ordained for struggle and equipped to go through pain for the purpose of gain. Hard truth; but nothing good comes easy.
